Polish team ALSEN were caught in the act of betting on their opponents in a match they eventually lost in ESL Pro Series Poland 9.
Many rumors circulated our site and other CS forums today suggesting that ALSEN will "throw" their EPS Poland Season 9 match against eliminacja by betting on their opponents at csgolounge.com, where the odds were 81%-19% in their favor (or 4.16 value for 1 invested on eliminacja).
Several of them claimed they had reliable sources, and surely enough after ALSEN ended up losing 10-16, csgolounge.com checked their players' bet records and found that the rumors were in fact true.
DiAMon and two of his teammates bet on their opponents today
Specifically, they provided proof to HLTV.org that players Michał "bCk" Lis and Jakub "kub" Pamuła bet on eliminacja from their own Steam accounts, and that team's captain Damian "DiAMon" Żarski did the same from several confirmed alternate accounts, despite placing a smaller bet on his team from his main account.
Following are links to screenshots made by csgolounge showing the link between players' accounts, their bets and winnings:
Damian "DiAMon" Żarski (Steam profile)
- alternate accounts used on csgolounge
- bet from 1st alternate account with over $600 worth of winnings
- bet from 2nd alternate account
- bet from 3rd alternate account with over $850 worth of wininngs, also showing a previous bet against ALSEN
- bet from 4th alternate accountMichał "bCk" Lis (Steam profile)
- bet from main account with over $300 worth of winningsJakub "kub" Pamuła (Steam profile)
- bet from main account with over $550 worth of winnings
This is all the evidence collected so far, and the total worth of the players' winnings exceeds $2,000.
It's worth noting that nothing has been found to implicate the other two ALSEN players from this match - Michał "michi" Majkowski and Mateusz "matty" Kołodziejczyk - or their 6th member Rafał "sany" Pietrzak.
However, there is proof that players from other teams in EPS Poland knew about the situation and didn't report it to the admins, but instead used it to their advantage to bet. Some of them are ESC's Karol "rallen" Rodowicz who put the maximum value and won over $1,000 worth of items, his teammate Mikołaj "mouz" Karolewski with this bet and Norbert "Norbiak" Bagiński from AMNESIA with another max bet from an alternate account.
csgolounge wanted to point out that "tournament admins and organizers, and [csgolounge] site admins did and will do everything to stop stuff like this".
EPS Poland organizers have not yet commented on the situation officially and are expected to do so tomorrow.
